I am very pleased to read that Stephen Fry will revisit his confessional documentary on bipolar disorder, in the BBC’s coming mental health season.
I’m not Mr Fry’s biggest fan, but his documentary of ten years ago was literally stunning, changed the landscape of mental health provision in the UK, and was one of the instigators that made me train as a therapist.
The other determinant, one I would advise you all to take, was reading Kay Redfield Jamison‘s marvellous An Unquiet Mind, which is the one book [all therapists have their one book, you know…] that made me realise this work was worth doing. And it still does.
Stay safe people, and be gentle with each other.
